Returnee to Scotland in the 1760s, owner of Dundee Estate in Jamaica, which in 1800 he left in trust for his son William and his issue, failing which to his son Thomas and his issue, failing which to his daughters Agnes and Margaret Jemima.
Marriage, 05/08/1788, at Edinburgh of James Stothert of Cargen and Miss Margaret Cockburn, daughter of the late Thomas Cockburn Esquire of Rawchester, Berwickshire, writer to the signet.
