Biography
Kender Mason was a large-scale slave-factor in the free port of Roseau, Dominica in the years before the American Revolution.
- Will of Kender Mason of [Hatton Street] St Andrew Holborn proved 22/03/1791. Under the will he left what appears to be largely urban property in London and diverse plantations in Montserrat, Antigua, Dominica or elsewhere in the West Indies in trust to be divided between his sons Henry William Mason and Kender Mason [jun.]. Kender Mason the testator said he was possessed of a large personal estate, including a debt of upwards of £40,000 owed to him by his son Henry William Mason and his partners Henry Blundell and Nicholas Masterson, and various other debts in England , Montserrat, Antigua and Dominica and elsewhere in the West Indies. The grant of probate showed that his son and co-heir Henry William Mason had become Henry William Pomeroy.
