In 1806 a group of landholdings in St David belonging to the estate of William Paterson totalling 768 acres 'considered fit for the Cultivation of Coffee and Provisions' were offered for sale by Alexander Ritchie and Patrick Grant and John Maclean: the sale did not appear to include any enslaved people and appears independent of the Aeoluls Valley estate, which was retained, Excerpts from Royal Gazette Jamaica 1806, http://www.jamaicanfamilysearch.com/Samples/gazet01.htm [accessed 02/09/2019].
