William Christie

Mary Ann Breakenridge, daughter of Elizabeth Mills, a free woman of colour, by John Breakenridge, was baptised in St Andrew, Jamaica, 15/01/1812 when 10 months old.

Andrew and Thomas Breakenridge, age 3 years and 2 years 9 months respectively, "free mulattos", were baptised in Kingston, 20/12/1817 at the same time as William Christie, also "free mulatto" age 7 months.

Elizabeth Weissert registered enslaved people in St Andrew as guardian of her infant children Andrew, Thomas and Mary Ann in 1817. They were registered by William Christie as guardian of his wife Elizabeth, 1820-1826 and by Elizabeth Christie as guardian in 1829. In 1832, Andrew and Thomas each registered their own enslaved people.

It therefore seems likely that Elizabeth Weissert/Mills/Christie is the same person. William Christie is also likely to have been a person of colour.
