Co-heir of her brother John Newton with her sister Dame Sarah Holte (each of whom q.v.).

Will of Elizabeth Newton of Kings Bromley proved 29/01/1795. In it she left monetary legacies totalling £23,500 to friends and family. She made no mention of real property, which passed to her executors and first cousins once removed Thomas and John Lane (each of whom q.v.) as her residuary legatees. She had made them her residuary legatees in order to ensure that the [allegedly illegitimate] son of her brother's estranged widow should receive no part of the estate. The will shows her as part of a genteel network in the Midlands, with her 15 legatees (each receiving between £500 and £3000) including members of the Arden, Lister and Inge families, as well as Edward Bouverie 'brother of the Earl of Radnor.'
