Born 24/03/1807 and baptised in London 05/12/1810, the eldest son of Edward Dalling Fitzgerald and Sarah Genery (his parents were not married). Inherited Kildare from his father (who died in 1815), subject to an annuity of £600 to his mother and £10,000 to each of his two brothers. He may not have received this inheritance as the estate was aleady heavily indebted.
