Will of James Renny of St Thomas-in-the-East Jamaica proved 20/03/1800. He left 50 guineas each to four male friends in Jamaica, 100 guineas to his relative James Ouchterlony and his estate to his brother Thomas Renny (q.v., under Thomas Renny Strachan), with remainder to another brother Alex.Strachan.
Presumably related to James Renny Ouchterlony and his brother Robert Ouchterlony (both q.v.). They were from Montrose, Scotland, and their mother's maiden surname was Renny. The former is probably the James Ouchterlony mentioned in James Renny's will.
PROB 11/1339/215.
