London merchant and slave-owner in Surinam. John Piggott Wilson appointed Donald Cameron of Surinam and failing him Colin Campbell of Surinam as his attorneys in the colony of Surinam in 1822. He appears to have been the owner of Plantation John on the East Correntine Coast c. 1821, and had mortgaged an unnamed estate in Surinam to Andrew Anderson of London in 1807 to secure a loan of 40,000 guilders.
Will of John Piggott Wilson of [20 Hunter Street Brunswick Square] St Pancras [made in 1823] proved 29/10/1841. After legacies of £20 to a friend and £10 each to two servants, in the will he left his property to his mother Sybella for life and then to his reputed son John Wilson then living with him at Hunter Street. His executors included Colin Campbell of Glasgow and Rotterdam and Elphinstone Piggott.

John Wilson, the reputed son of John Piggott Wilson, was possibly the man who appeared as exectutor of Mary Campbell of Surinam in 1872.
