Husband of Mary Littledale (nee Dawson) (q.v.) and probably the partner of his brother-in-law John Bolton (q.v.) in Bolton & Littledale. This latter has proved surprisingly difficult to confirm in Liverpool sources but appears clear from Privy Council case in 1830 concerning the Waterloo estate in Demerara, in which Mary Littledale as executrix of Anthony Littledale and John Bolton represented the firm of Bolton & Littledale. Anthony Littledale was dead by 1825. Alfred and Anthony Littledale had been slave factors in Demerara c. 1805.
The recent entry for John Bolton in the ODNB confirms Anthony Littledale as the partner of John Bolton, Pope, David. 2016 "Bolton, John (1756–1837), West India and South American merchant, slave trader, and slave owner."
