John Tharpe Lawrence, son of James Lawrence and his wife Mary, was baptised 14/02/1789 in St James, Jamaica. Owner of Hazelymph estate in St James, presumably inherited from his father. The estate was in receivership by 1823.
Apparently a flag midshipman under Lord Collingwood at the Battle of Trafalgar. Married Sarah Eliza Julia Livingston (1801-). Lived in Jamaica until after Emancipation when the family moved to Elizabethtown, New Jersey. Died in 1847.
