Biography

Born 24/09/1789 and baptised 20/01/1790 in Kingston, Jamaica, daughter of Richard Latimer and Mary his wife. Married Francis Whitte in St Pancras Parish Chapel, 19/12/1811. Inherited Peter's Rock and Mount Charles in St Andrew, Jamaica, from her father in trust for her own sole and separate use in 1813 or 1814. Died 21/12/1819.

Partially sourced family tree on Ancestry.com (author lindlaybracks) gives the children of Grace Mary Whittle as Latimer Whittle (1813-1891), Maria West Whittle (1815-1892), Frances "Fanny" Whittle (1816-1897), Grace Mary Whittle (1816-1897), Caroline Ogg Whittle (1817-1869) and Conwaianna Whittle (1818-1865). According to her father's will, Peter's Rock and Mount Charles were to be inherited in trust by the children of Grace Mary Whittle, in the proportions to be willed by her, and in default of a will, in equal portions. No will has been found so far.
