Nicholas Blake

1. Nicholas Blake Esquire was buried at St Elizabeth 16/09/1753. Brother of Benjamin Blake junior and uncle of Nicholas Allen Blake (both q.v.).

2. Nicholas Blake was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 600 acres of land in St Elizabeth.

3. Nicholas Blake of St Elizabeth, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1755. Slave-ownership at probate: 121 of whom 71 were listed as male and 50 as female. 32 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £8318.63 Jamaican currency of which £5277.34 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £1499.6 currency debts and £101 currency plate.
