Absentee slave-owner in Jamaica, whose path to ownership was probably from Thomas Stratton or Straton (q.v.), who had left his 'genteel fortune' to his sisters.

Will of Alexander Cushnie of Stonehaven or Links of Arduthie Kincardineshire [made in 1798] proved 08/05/1799. He left to his daughter Mary Ann Cushnie the quarter of the Windsor Castle estate [and enslaved people] he owned directly, 'and also to [sic] my deceased brother Thomas the fourth share to which I succeeded as heir at law.'
