Francis Shand the elder

1. Born 29/03/1782 and baptised the following day in Edinburgh, son of Francis Shand and his wife Janet Wilson. His father was a merchant baillie in Edinburgh. Followed his elder brother Charles into the West India merchant firm Rodie and Shands in Liverpool.

2. At Great Nelson Street, Liverpool, in 1807. Married Mary Reid in 1809. Children baptisted at the Particular Baptist Church in Liverpool: Francis (1810), Barbara (1811), Lily (1812), John (1814). Baptisms in Oldham Street, Presbyterian Church, Liverpool: Mary Ann (1818), Charles (1819), William Walker (born 1821, baptised 1823), Thomas Livingstone Reid (1823), Francis (1825).

3. Of Roscommon Street, Liverpool, at the time of his death. Buried 22/04/1825 at Holy Trinity, Liverpool, aged 43.
