Edward New of Bath counterclaimed unsuccessfully with his wife Eliza and with Mrs Patty New as annuitants for the compensation for the enslaved people on the Parris estate on Nevis.
In the 1841 census, Edward New, school master aged 65, his wife Eliza aged 65, Patty New aged 70, Francis New aged 65 and Eliza R. New aged 35 were living at Albion Place, Bath.
Patty New was buried at St Philip and Jacob, Gloucestershire 12/01/1847 aged 76. She had married (as Patty Parris) James New jun. 12/04/1797 at Bristol.
