Biography

Widow of John Lindsey of Morgan's in Antigua who died in 1779. She moved to Trinidad, presumably with her daughter Dorothy Jarvis, and then to London, dying there in 1797. Her will made no mention of her annuity under her husband's will, which was in arrears at her death.

She left £3500 to her grand-daugher Ann Lindsey Jarvis in satisfaction of amounts that she [the testator] might have received in the island of Trinidad or elsewhere on behalf of Ann Lindsey Jarvis under the will of the latter's mother Dorothy Jarvis. Ann Lindsey also left Ann Lindsey Jarvis 'a negro girl named Jenny daughter of my negro woman Abby'. She left £500 to her dear friend Mary Meredith[also a beneficiary under the will of her son William Lindsey], 20 guineas to Don Joseph [sic] Maria Chacon late Governor of Trinidad for a mourning ring and as a mark of her esteem, and the residue of her estate to her sons William, James and John.
