Mary Raynsford (née Steward)

???? - 1796

Biography

Mary Steward was a beneficiary under the will of John Aylett Stow (q.v.), inheriting a life-interest in property at Brentford as well as annuities on her and other lives secured on property (including enslaved people) on Antigua and Nevis. Stow's will is silent on the nature of their relationship. She married Robert Raynsford (d. 1824) at St Andrews Holborn 03/01/1782, when she was described as spinster. In the Master's Report of 24/07/1837 in the Chancery suit of Neave v Miller, the executors of Robert Raynsford, claiming under the will of John Aylett Stowe [sic], were shown as entitled to the annuity or arrears of the annuity.
