Awarded compensation for the Bog estate and Shotover Pen in Portland and the Muir Town and Reach estates in St Thomas-in-the-East. Son of William Bryan (q.v.) and Arabella Wilkinson Bryan, who was baptised at St Marylebone 24/08/1808.
William Bryan and Arabella Wilkinson Bryan had three children baptised in London, Edmund as above, Eliza (28/12/1799 at St Maylebone) and Favel (17/01/1801 at St Pancras). In 1861 Edmund Bryan aged 53, possibly 'Army Retired', born Marylebone Middlesex was living at Guildford Street with daughters Amy S aged 24 born Brighton and Ellen aged 19 born Byfleet Surrey. In 1851 he was living aged 43 Fundholder at 19 North Street Chichester with wife Catharine aged 42 born Kensington and daughters Ida 15 born Brighton, Amy S 14 born Brighton, Charlotte 12, Ellen 9 born Byfleet, and Emma 5. In 1841 he was living at Byfleet Lodge, Byfleet Surrey with Catharine aged 30 and the three oldest daughters.

Will of Edmund Bryan formerly of Brighton but late of 7 Loraine Road Holloway who died 18/12/1870 proved 10/01/1871 effects under £1500.
T71/915 Portland claim no. 204; T71/867 St Thomas-in-the-East 12 & 30. The claims were made by James Johnson as attorney, who was also identifed as attorney to the executors of William Bryan in 1832. The wills of two William Bryans of St Andrew Jamaica were proved 03/11/1813 PROB11/1549 and 11/01/1830 PROB 11/1765.
