Identified in the compensation records as a partner in Bogle, King, of Glasgow, a firm not yet identified in other sources but apparently a local partnership of George Bogle of Rosemount, Archibald Bogle of Gilmorehill, William Hamilton and David King. David King of Demerara who had been a partner in Francis Garden & Sons (q.v.) and failed in the 1810s, was presumably the same man.
T71/887 British Guiana claim nos. 2271 (Endeavour), 2275 (Cane Garden), 2300 (Caledonia & Dordrecht) and 2302 (Nieuw Bendorff). London Gazette, Issue 17124, 02/04/1816 p. 13. Francis Garden and David King in 1817 applied to the Court of Session for a full discharge of the debts contracted by them as partners in the firms of Francis Garden & Sons and Garden, King & Co. in Demerara, London Gazette 17232 18 March 1817 p. 712.
