The will of James Dugald Forbes (loyalist and Bahamas planter who died in Stirling in 1820) identifies James Campbell of Newton Lodge as his son-in-law: his daughter Sarah Jean Forbes (born in the Bahamas) married James Campbell (died 1831) 'before 10 August 1816' [i.e. date of will] in Stirling.
'At Melville Place Stirling, James Campbell, merchant Port Glasgow to Miss Sarah Jean Forbes 3rd daughter of Dugald Forbes Esq., Stirling.'
