Barbara Yonge (1760-1837), inherited a share in Stapleton's plantation, St Kitts, from her mother Penelope Yonge née Stapleton.
Daughter of Penelope Stapleton and Ellis Yonge of Bryn Iorcyn, Flintshire, Wales, and Acton Hall, near Wrexham. Her maternal grandfather was James Russell Stapleton (1699-1743), whose paternal grandfather in turn was Sir William Stapleton, 1st Bart. (d. 1686), Governor General of the Leeward Islands and the founder of the Stapleton family's West Indian fortune. Barbara Yonge died in 1837 and left her share to Charlotte Rowley (1811-1900), granddaughter of her sister Penelope Shipley née Stapleton (1758-1789).
Her co-claimant Sir Stapleton Cotton, Viscount Combermere (q.v.) was her first cousin, both having James Russell Stapleton as their maternal grandfather.
