Counter-claimed successfully with her siblings Elizabeth Brodie (q.v.), Sarah Shaw (who died c. 1835), all children of Dr David Shaw and Henrietta Campbell (together also with the Rev. John Campbell Shaw (q.v.)), against Alexander Hamilton Shaw (their brother) for compensation on Bishops Mount in St Mary, Jamaica.
Living alone at 4/2 West Adam Street, Edinburgh in the census of 1851, spinster, age 45, born in Jamaica. Died at 3 Comely Green Crescent, Edinburgh, 04/10/1856, when her father was listed as David Shaw, Planter, and her mother was unknown.
Fanny's mother Henrietta Campbell died aged 63 at Bishop's Mount Jamaica in October 1832. Her burial record identifies her as "Quadroon".
