UCL Medical School success at the Faculty of Medical Sciences Dean’s Research Prize 2019

A great win for the Research Department of Medical Education (RDME) postgraduate research students, as Gianpaolo Manalastas (3rd year PhD in Medical Education) came first in the Faculty’s Three Minute Thesis Competition held in February. The Three Minute Thesis is an annual competition held at universities across the country, inviting PhD students to present their research in an exciting and accessible way in three minutes or less. Gianpaolo’s presentation, called "“Before I go into that, let me ask you a few questions first”: How doctors use language to control the consultation structure” came first out of a field of strong entries from other competitors in the Faculty.

Gianpaolo will go on to represent the Faculty and compete against the winners of other UCL Faculty heats on Wednesday 12 June. For more information and to book tickets for the Three Minute Thesis final, follow the link here: https://studentsunionucl.org/articles/ucl-3mt-finalists-announced
