Division of Medicine Bursaries

The Division of Medicine is offering three bursaries worth £5,000 to study a range of master's degrees in 2025. You must hold an offer to study one of the participating courses before you can apply.

Eligibility

  • All bursaries are open to UK and overseas students.
  • All bursaries are awarded by a combination of academic merit and financial need.
  • They are not available for postgraduate diplomas, postgraduate certificates or short courses.
  • You must hold an offer to study one of the participating degrees to apply for a bursary.

Biomedical Sciences Programme Bursary

One bursary of £5,000 for students on the following programmes:

  • MSc Advanced Biomedical Imaging
  • MSc / MRes Clinical Drug Development
  • MSc / MRes Drug Design
  • MSc Genetics and Multiomics in Medicine
  • MSc / MRes Human Tissue Repair
  • MSc Precision Medicine 
  • MSc Respiratory Clinical Science

Once you have an offer to study, send a completed bursary application form to divmed.postgrad@ucl.ac.uk by 22 August 2025 (5pm).

Nutrition Programmes Bursary

One bursary of £5,000 for students on the following programmes:

  • MSc Clinical & Public Health Nutrition
  • MSc Eating Disorders & Clinical Nutrition
  • MSc Obesity & Clinical Nutrition

Lead Departmental Student Representative Bursary

One bursary of £5,000 for students on the following programmes:

Responsibilities

The awardee will become the Division of Medicine PGT Lead Departmental Representative for the academic year 2025/2026. This role holds the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Gather feedback: Collect feedback from PGT students on various aspects of their academic experience, including teaching quality, assessment methods, and support services.
  • Represent students: Act as the primary liaison between PGT students and the divisional administration, representing students’ views at meetings and consultations. Co-host termly Student Partnership Committee meetings between students and staff. 
  • Communicate outcomes: Relay information back to the student body about decisions made, actions taken, and any changes implemented based on their feedback.
  • Advocate for change: Work with divisional and/or faculty staff to address any issues or concerns raised by students, advocating for improvements and solutions.
  • Organise events: Help organize events and activities that enhance the PGT experience, such as workshops, social events, and networking opportunities.
  • Provide support: Offer support and guidance to PGT students, helping them navigate university processes and access resources.
  • Collaborate with other representatives: Work closely with other student reps at the divisional and faculty level to ensure a cohesive approach to student representation.
