Public Engagement

We cover many aspects of astrophysics and solar system science, missions, careers, and space history and aim to show the diversity of people and activities that make up our community.

Every year, our staff and students typically interact directly with almost 20,000 members of the public of all ages, through various events including public talks, science festivals and family events. We cover many aspects of astrophysics and solar system science, missions, careers, and space history and aim to show the diversity of people and activities that make up our community. We also hold open days on a semi-regular basis.

Get in Contact:

We are always very happy to consider requests for engagement activities. For queries please email mssl.outreach@ucl.ac.uk. We do consider every email enquiry, and although we endeavour to accommodate as many requests as our staff members' and students' availability makes possible, we are sorry that it is not possible to respond positively to every request. Please note that MSSL is a working laboratory so it is unfortunately very unusual for us to be able to accommodate visits by groups or individuals.
