How to deal with Halabja Genocide Memorial Sites

This project focuses on memorial sites established in Halabja after the genocide, such as the city itself, the Statue of Omar Khawar, the Halabja Monument and Peace Museum, mass graves, the Monument of Season of Halabja, basements, Commemoration 16th of March 1988, and the Wounded and Victims monument. The aim is to explore the role of these sites in the collective memory of the people of Halabja, their construction, significance, and how they are perceived, maintained, restored, and visited by both local officials and the Kurdistan regional government.
