Ashish

Dr. Ashish is a Research Fellow in Flexible Electronics and Wireless sensing at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS), University College London, United Kingdom. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Associate at Divyasampark iHUB Roorkee for Devices Materials and Technology Foundation-IIT Roorkee. He earned his Ph.D. (Thesis title: Nano-enabled biosensors for efficient detection of cancer biomarkers) from the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India in 2022. He holds a Master of Technology degree in Biomedical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, India (2016) and Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University Institute of Engineering and Technology Kurukshetra, India (2014). Dr. Kalkal is the recipient of Excellence in Doctoral Research Award given by IIT Roorkee during the convocation 2022 for his outstanding Ph.D. work in Engineering stream under the category of Applied Research and prestigious Award of Appreciation (Best oral presentation) in the 3rd National Biomedical Research competition 2021 (NBRCOM-2021) organized by Society of young Biomedical Scientists (SYBS) under the Health science category. He has also received the International travel grant from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India for presenting his research work at IEEE 12th International Conference on Nanomaterials: Applications & Properties, Poland (11-16 September 2022). His research work has also been highlighted in several research platforms such as Nature India, Atlas of Science. In addition he has received different awards including 3-Minutes Thesis Presentation award, Best Oral and Poster Presentation awards at different national and international platforms.
