UCL Scholarships & Funding

Fifteen Wellcome Trust Vacation Scholarships at UCL are available to science, dentistry and medicine undergraduates from universities in the UK and Ireland - including UCL. The scholarships provide promising undergraduates with hands-on research experience, working on UCL projects in the field of biomedical science over the summer vacation, with the aim of encouraging them to consider a career in research.

The UCL Scholarships are open to undergraduates from any UK/Irish university including UCL currently enrolled in the middle year(s) of a degree programme in basic science (such as biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy and computing), dentistry and veterinary science, as well as to medical students between the end of the second year of the MBBS and the end of the penultimate year. Scholarships for summer research projects at UCL are available for up to eight weeks and currently provide a weekly stipend of £190.

The deadline for applications for projects at UCL is 18 April 2008.

The Wellcome Trust also operates a separate scheme of Student Elective Prizes specifically for medical students.
