Attitudes to cancer treatment: participants wanted for interview session

ucl.ac.uk/hbrc/index.html" target="_blank">Health Behaviour Research Centre is looking for participants for an interview session. The session will find out participants' opinions about a scan that is used to look for bowel cancer.

The study hopes to find whether the scan could be used for screening, which looks for problems in individuals without symptoms and can find cancer early, when there is a better chance of successful treatment.

Participants would take part in a face-to-face interview, where an interviewer will provide some information about the test and ways in which patients might be asked to prepare beforehand.

Participants would then answer questions on the test's acceptability and what they think of different methods of preparation. There will be no testing or medicines involved in the study.

The interview will take between 45 minutes and one hour, and you will receive £10 for your time. Interviews will take place in the centre's office in 1-19 Torrington Place.

This study has been approved by the UCL Research Ethics Committee (2951/001) and the Sunderland NHS Research Ethics Committee (11/NE/0240).

You are eligible to apply if you:

• Are between 45 and 59 years old

• Are not a member of clinical staff

• Have never had a CT scan, colonoscopy or bowel cancer diagnosis

• Are able to read and speak English
