Celebrating 60 years of combined service in UCL Estates
18 December 2013
This week UCL Estates will say farewell to two employees with extremely long service.
Linda (UCL Safety Services), has worked at UCL and our Royal Free Medical School for 35 years. Performing various roles within the university, Linda's experience includes health and safety at the Royal Free Medical School and UCL Estates as a Safety Advisor. When asked about her career highlight, Linda lists presenting scientific models at 1993s American Society of Microbiology in Atlanta as a top moment.
David Payne began his career with UCL 25 years ago, looking after the day-to-day operations of our electrical and, later, mechanical departments. David moved to a role in Engineering, Maintenance and Infrastructure, looking after contract maintenance. David's highlight of working for UCL was the diverse nature of his role: "every day was different and there were always new challenges to conquer".
Congratulations and thank you to both Linda and David. Their contribution to the university has been tremendous and we wish them all the best in their retirement.
