Vice warden positions available
26 March 2015
As part of the management of its Halls of Residences UCL employs in a voluntary position small teams of vice wardens in each hall.
The positions are open to any
graduate student registered at UCL with a least one year remaining on her/his
programme of study.
Applications will also be accepted from prospective graduate students who have confirmed their offer of admission for 2014-15. Current research students or prospective research students are particularly encouraged to apply.
The main role of the vice warden is to help
promote a good social atmosphere, maintain good order and occasionally provide
pastoral and welfare provision for the residents.
As part of each team, vice wardens operate on a rota system during the evenings and at weekends and
although the role can occasionally be challenging it can also be extremely
rewarding. A single room
is offered free of charge to Vice-Wardens and the post holder is expected to
reside within that Hall.
Successful applicants would be expected to demonstrate previous experience of having served in an advisory or supportive role; of being in a position of authority or leadership; and good team working skills.
If this role is something that may be of interest to you then further information and an application form can be found on UCL's Job Vacancies sit.
