SKIP UCL is recruiting: volunteer in Ghana
16 November 2016
Students for Kids International Projects (SKIP) is a UK student-led charity which supports child welfare in communities throughout the developing world.
The project
involves working in sheltered housing for children with cognitive and
physical disabilities. SKIP UCL aim to implement sustainable interventions
which support the wellbeing of the children and educate the local community
about the stigma surrounding disability.
SKIP UCL also help out on a daily basis with a range of activities, including feeding the children and leading sports sessions. It is a hugely rewarding project for both volunteers and the community, and there are also many opportunities for travelling and experiencing Ghanaian culture.
Getting involved
To become an international volunteer, you
must be a UCL student who is interested in volunteering with children in
developing countries.
There is no volunteering fee, although SKIP UCL ask that you
are able to fund your travels, including flights.
SKIP UCL will begin accepting applications later in the year once the exact dates have been confirmed, so please like their Facebook page @SKIPUCL to stay in the loop.
