UCLU launches the Heads Up mental health campaign
18 November 2016
Last night the North Cloisters played host to the inaugural event of the Heads Up campaign.
Mental Health has become a taboo amongst many groups that students may identify with and UCLU want this taboo to be removed on campus. A series of events will be held throughout the year to provide opportunities for students to tackle stigma around mental health.
Launch event
The launch event, consisted
of an introduction to the campaign, the release of Heads Up: Reporting on Mental Health and information on our first awareness exhibition.
The report indicates that one in three students at UCL experienced clinical level mental health issues, with depression and anxiety topping the bill.
You can read the full report and a summary of the recommendations which include increased pastoral support and a particular focus on the disproportionate level of stigmatisation perceived amongst male students suffering with their mental health at uclu.org/headsup.
