Planned train and tube disruption next week

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) has announced that a 24-hour Tube strike will take place on the London Underground on Tuesday 21 June.
 
The union has confirmed that 10,000 of its members are set to strike as part of a dispute over pensions and job losses.  

It will coincide with the first day of a national rail strike, in which thousands of rail workers will stage three days of strike action on June 21, 23 and 25. This is the biggest strike on the rail network since 1989. 

UCL will make every attempt to keep activities running for students, with student-facing staff asked to come in to work where possible. If you are coming into campus, please allow extra time to get to your destination. You can visit Transport for London, National Rail or the Citymapper app, which might be useful for planning alternative types of transport such as bicycle and scooter hire, walking, buses etc. If you are unable to get to work using alternative transport, you should advise your line manager as early as possible.

If the tube strike affects your ability to come into campus, you are welcome to work from home on Tuesday 21 June. Additionally, if the rail strike affects your ability to come into campus on Tuesday 21, Thursday June 23 or Saturday 25, you are welcome to work from home on these days. 

Staff unable to work from home can agree flexible solutions with managers such as using TOIL or making up lost time where possible. If alternative arrangements cannot be found, staff should arrange to take annual leave or unpaid leave, in line with our Special Leave policy on travel and weather disruption.
