Planting trees won’t save the world

President Trump’s plan to plant a trillion trees would slow down the planet’s warming, but is a diversion from the real solution of rapid and substantial reductions in carbon emissions from fossil fuels, argue Professor Mark Maslin and Professor Simon Lewis (both UCL Geography).
