Transatlantic slavery introduced infectious diseases to the Americas

Dr Lucy van Dorp (UCL Genetics, Evolution & Environment) provides external comment on a DNA study in Mexico which suggests that the transatlantic slave trade may have introduced new infectious diseases into the Americas.
