Solar snake seen slithering on the Sun

The Sun-observing Solar Orbiter spacecraft, carrying instruments proposed, designed and built at UCL, spotted a “tube” of cooler atmospheric gases snaking its way through the Sun’s magnetic field, and is being investigated by Dr David Long (UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory).
