Celebrating Frances' Elton life work and contributions

The Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre (DCAL) are hosting a memorial event to pay tribute to Frances Elton and the work she did during her career.

This will take place on Saturday 21st January 2023 2pm to 5.30pm at UCL’s Cruiform Lecture Theatre 1, Cruciform Building, Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT. 

Confirmed presenters are Prof. Bencie Woll, Clark Denmark, Avril Hepner, Dr. Kate Rowley, Dr. Robert Adam and Janet Young. There will be a panel discussion at the end to discuss the way ahead in BSL teaching and research. 

There will also be a premier showing of the final version of Lightwave, a film directed by Rubbena Aurengzeb-Tariq and developed in collaboration with Prof. Bencie Woll. 

The event will be in British Sign Language (BSL). Refreshments will be provided. 

The event is free of charge but you will need to register to attend.
