We are a small team of consumer psychologists with a core expertise in understanding how consumers think, and specifically the role the unconscious mind plays in influencing behaviour. At the heart of our work is the recognition that there can be a big difference between what people say and what they actually think, feel and do. We understand why this gap exists in market research and how to overcome it. We work across numerous categories; everything from changing the behaviour of healthcare professionals and airport users, to creating new products and advertising campaigns.
Our approach embraces key learnings from behavioural science to maximise the psychological validity of our insights and uncover people’s true (not claimed) attitudes, perceptions and behaviours. We are extremely mindful that most decisions are driven by unconscious processes and that the way information is presented and the context in which people encounter it can have a huge impact on how they respond. To overcome this, we have developed specialised techniques that allow us to control factors that can bias people’s thinking (such as context, priming and framing) and ultimately uncover what is really driving behaviour at both a conscious and unconscious level.
