Job description

The Centre for Education & International Development (CEID) MA Custer wishes to make appointments for Postgraduate Teaching Assistants for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Education and International Development: Conflict, Emergencies and Peace MA
Education, Gender and International Development MA
Education, Health Promotion and International Development MA
Educational Planning, Economics, and International Development MA

We are looking for PGTAs who have expertise in education and international development and one or more of the following areas: gender, health education/promotion, educational planning, education in emergencies.

The purpose of this job is to support teaching and learning on the MA programmes through individual tutorials, small group teaching and contribution to online teaching materials.

Main duties of the post are facilitating and supporting seminars and online discussion, tutoring assignments as well as coursework assessment and provision of feedback.

Key responsibilities

  • Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
  • Giving feedback to students;
  • Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
  • Design and prepare teaching materials for one or more online and on campus modules in consultation with module leaders.

Requirements for role

These roles are available from October 2024 to UCL Post-Graduate Research (PGR) students who are registered from September 2024.

The postholder will be educated to Masters degree level (or having equivalent experience), in education and international development or related field, and working towards a relevant postgraduate degree (PhD, EdD or other doctorate). You will have specialist knowledge and skills appropriate to one or more of the five programmes (see above).
