The PGTA will:

• attend weekly lectures,
• deliver 5 contact hours of seminar teaching, and
• contribute to the marking of summative assessments under the guidance of the module convener, Dr Gareth Wood.

Lecture and seminars take place 2-4 pm on Tuesdays. Texts to be covered are Carmen Laforet, Nada; Gabriel García Márquez, El coronel no tiene quien le escriba; and Diamela Eltit, Los Vigilantes.

Fluency in Spanish is essential. Start Date: 11 November 2024

For LITC0002

The PGTA will:

• attend weekly lectures,
• deliver 2 x 10 contact hours of seminar teaching to two parallel groups, and
• contribute to the marking of summative assessments under the guidance of the module convener, Dr Jann Matlock.

The lecture takes place at 12-1 on Tuesdays; the PGTA seminars at 10-11am on Thursdays and a further time tbc. In dialogue with a range of theoretical texts, the reading list includes: short stories by Jorge Luis Borges and Franz Kafka; Honoré de Balzac, Sarrasine; Euripides, Bacchae; Sophocles, Oedipus Rex; Henry James, The Turn of the Screw; William Shakespeare, Twelfth Night; Sappho, poetry fragments; Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre; Derek Walcott, poetry. Start date: 13 January 2025

Key responsibilities

• Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers.
• Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;Marking students' work.

Requirements for the role

The candidates will be educated to Master's degree level (or having equivalent experience) and be working towards a relevant postgraduate degree (M.Phil./PhD).
