Job description
The main duties of the post are: seminar group teaching; regular meetings with the module leader; assessment and provision of feedback to students; attendance reporting. PGTAs appointed will receive appropriate support in developing their teaching practice, and will receive mentoring and departmental guidance in relation to their seminar support role.
Your main areas of responsibility will vary depending on the module that you are working on.
You will receive professional development in teaching support.

Key responsibilities
- Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
- Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
- After-class contact time with students, including time-tabled office hours;
- Dissertation co-supervision at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level(s);
- Marking students' work;
- Giving feedback to students
Requirements for role
- Currently a UCL PGR Student or be registered as a UCL PGR Student by the start of the relevant academic year.
- Demonstrable sound knowledge in a subject area relevant to the programme to be supported.
- In second year (or later) of study towards a PhD in Social Sciences or a related field (on completion of the PhD, you will no longer be eligible to participate in this PGTA scheme).
- Educated at least to Master’s level, in a related subject.
