About us

The history of philosophy as a subject at UCL goes back to 1830. Many celebrated philosophers including AJ Ayer and Richard Wollheim were appointed Chairs in Philosophy at UCL.

Today, UCL has one of the largest philosophy departments in the UK. Our research is world-leading and covers many areas.
