Information for Participating Parents

Preterm Parents

  • Our medical team will discuss your participation in the study
    whilst you are in hospital.
  • They will discuss the MRI scans with you and only proceed with them
    if you are happy.
  • Once you have been discharged from hospital, your details will be
passed on to the baby lab team, who will then contact you when your child
reaches their corrected assessment age (3, 6 and 12months).
  • If you wish to contact our team in the baby lab before we are in touch with you, please contact Kayleigh using the details on the right.

Term Parents

Depending on how you heard about the study, we may need you to get in touch!

If you are due to give birth at University College Hospital in the coming months or have a child born around their due date that is aged between 2 and 5 years…

Did you:

  • Hear about the study and expressed an interest during an antenatal class? If so, our research nurse should have your details. She will keep track of hospital records and when you have had your baby, she or another member of the team, will come and discuss your participation with you again. If you are still happy to be a part of the study, she will liaise with the medical team in regards to booking an MRI scan before you leave the hospital.

Or have you:

  • Heard about the study through other means and wish to talk to a member of the team about participating? If so, please contact Kayleigh Day (details on right). She will give you more information about the study and pass on your details to the hospital team so they know you are interested when you come in to give birth.
