Kuru: unravelling the mystery disease that left entire Papua New Guinean villages without women

The Guardian published an article about our new genetic analysis of the populations of the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea in collaboration with the PNG Institute of Medical Research. The study sheds new light on the population genetics of the region and adaptions to the kuru epidemic.
