This event will celebrate the publication of a new book entitled Recovery from Disaster, written by Ian Davis (Copenhagen, Lund, Kyoto and Oxford Brookes Universities) and David Alexander (UCL-IRDR). The book was published by Routledge Ltd on 8th September 2015. The evening will consist of a 90-minute symposium and discussion on the theme of recovery from disaster, including a short presentation of the scope and contents of the book. A panel of experts in the field will debate the issues associated with recovery policy and practice, provision of shelter and involvement of local stakeholders. The symposium will be followed by a reception, at which copies of the book will be available for inspection and purchase.
The panel will include the authors and three experts on reconstruction after disaster:-
