Other RDR Programmes

PGCert and PGDip

Post-Graduate Diploma (PGDip) and Certificate (PGCert) Programmes

These programmes comprise of taught courses with no independent research project and are aimed at students to want to increase their knowledge and are looking for courses with less of a time commitment than a full masters. Both can be studied as standalone programmes, or as a stepping stone towards a full MSc.

In addition, the PGDip offers a flexible learning path which allows students to complete the degree over 5 years.

PGDip in Risk, Disaster and Resilience

PGDip students undertake all of the taught modules but not the independent project on a masters programme, to a total value of 120 credits. A PGDip option is available for all of the RDR MSc programmes.

PGDip fees are set at 2/3 of the fees for their corresponding MSc programmes, in line with comprising 2/3 of the course credits.

PG Cert in Risk, and Disaster Reduction

Director: Dr Sarah Dryhurst
Duration: part time 9 months; flexible up 1 year

PG Cert students undertake modules to the value of 60 credits: the four RDR core taught modules (15 credits each). The programme may be completed as a stand-alone PG-Cert, or it may be used as a stepping stone towards subsequent completion of a PGDip or Master's.
