How to find safety role holders in your department
27 July 2022
It is important that people across UCL can find out who is responsible for safety in their department. The Responsible Persons Register lists all those people in a department who hold a safety role or have safety responsibilities.
In order to effectively manage health and safety at UCL, each department appoints individuals to carry out specific safety tasks, such as first aiders, fire evacuation marshals (FEMs) and other specialist safety roles. Departments must record the details of those individuals who perform a health and safety role in the ‘Responsible Persons Register’ (“RPR”) in riskNET.
By placing the information on the register in riskNET, people can easily identify who holds a safety role both within their department and across UCL.

Register Co-ordinators update departmental registers
The Register Co-ordinator is the person who is responsible for editing and updating the register on behalf of the department.
It is important that when entering persons into a register they are linked to the relevant part of the organisation for each role they are nominated. This is not an automatic process.
Our new How-To videos show you everything you need to know about keeping your RPR up-to-date.
