Need Help with the New Regulations?

22 February 2019

Not sure which regulations have changed, or how they apply to your students? A new webpage is here to help.

Recent Changes

The Academic Manual Recent Changes page includes a range of new resources to help departments implement the new regulations for the 2018-19 academic session.

Not sure which regulations have changed?

The Regulations Comparison Tables give a quick-reference guide to the main changes from year to year:

Wondering which regulations apply to resitting, deferring and interrupting students?

Education Committee has agreed new Transition Policies to help explain which regulations apply to students who are still undertaking modules from previous years:

These cover the most common scenarios that might arise, but if you are unsure about the most appropriate course of action, please contact academicregulations@ucl.ac.uk who can discuss the options with you.

Not sure if the new UG condonement regulations will affect students’ classifications?

Most of the changes apply straightaway to all UCL students who are fully enrolled on the 2018-19 academic session. However, the new UG Classification regulations have to be phased in to ensure that we meet the requirements of the Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA). This means that there will be a number of years in which the new Condonement regulations and the old Classification regulations are applied together. Education Committee has agreed a Condonement Mitigation Policy to help with the transition.

Need a summary of the main changes this year?

Finally, just a reminder that summaries of the main changes for 2018-19 can be found on the Academic Manual Recent Changes page:
