7 May:New Exam Board Reports launch

7 May 2019

Delivering Exam Board reporting at the touch of a button

On 7 May a new suite of Exam Board Reports will be launched in Portico. Initially access to the new reports will be restricted to the project team to enable further testing to be undertaken. The reports will be made available to the wider UCL community from 14 May.

Following extensive consultation with departments and faculties, Education Committee approved this new suite of reports for use by all Exam Boards from June 2019. Use of these reports will remove the need for staff to extract and manipulate data outside Portico, making preparations for Board meetings less complex and more efficient.

The new reports have undergone intensive testing by secondees and volunteers from departments and faculties ahead of this launch.

Derfel Owen, Director of Academic Services said: ‘We’d like to thank all our colleagues for their hard work and support with delivering our vision of Exam Board reporting at the touch of a button! Exam Boards are a critical part of the assessment process which will now operate more effectively with provision of real-time information from Portico via the new reports’.

Next steps

13-31 May: Training sessions in Portico on the end-to-end Exam Board process have been arranged for Board Administrators and Examination Liaison Officers. Further details about these sessions and how to book a place are available in the Faculty Training Sessions Update.

20 May-28 June: Supported drop-in sessions will be provided to assist staff as they prepare for their Exam Boards. Further details about these sessions will be provided.
